Best of Luck Chance of a Lifetime Book 3 eBook Kate Clayborn

Best of Luck is the third book in Kate Clayborn's Chance of a Lifetime series, and it is a great 5 star finish. Greer and Alex are EVERYTHING. All of the characters in this series are real and perfectly imperfect, and Greer and Alex are no exception. Greer is the quiet third friend of the lucky lottery winners, who chooses to spend her winnings on helping her family and earning a college degree. Greer is trying to escape the constant hovering and scrutiny of her family, desperate for some independence. Alex is Kit's older brother (from book 1, Beginner's Luck), a world traveling photojournalist, who raised Kit during their childhood. They are both introduced, and their heat sizzles, earlier in the series. Greer unexpectedly helps Alex at Kit's wedding, and Alex, in turn, unexpectedly helps Greer with her last requirements for graduation. As they grow close, they challenge each other, their own expectations for themselves and for the possibilities of a relationship between them. I love Greer and the gentle way she fights for independence. She's not in your face-aggressive but still stands up for herself. Alex is every person who has spent so much of their lives just surviving, that once he can finally trust and breath and just be, you feel the weight lift off his shoulders and want to cry with relief for and with him. Together they have great chemistry, the kind of connection that is meet your eyes across the room and know you're not really alone, while it still only takes a touch to light it all up. The heat level is just right, plenty of sparks and sexy times but not excessive or unwarranted, it is authentic. The challenges Greer and Alex face at the end, thankfully don't turn into a long drawn out misunderstanding but are instead an effective plot point to wake them both up to knowing and admitting that what they have, is worth everything. I loved this series and I especially loved Greer and Alex. I highly recommend this book and can't wait to see what Kate Clayborn does next.

Best of Luck Chance of a Lifetime Book 3 eBook Kate Clayborn Reviews

3.5 stars - This is probably my favorite of the Chance of a Lifetime books. As a person with a chronic illness, I really appreciated Greer's character. I think the author really tapped into a lot of the fears & insecurities that come with being sick. I could relate less to Alex's character, but I liked them together. And of course, the friendships in this book are always a winner.

Another cute, feel good book that left an impression.
This book is so softly, unobtrusively romantic that when I was reading it, my heart started beating a little bigger than it had before.

Or that could have just been Aleksandr Averin, who was so hot I had to turn on the A/C every time he came on the page. And it’s February.

(You don’t have to read the series to understand this one BUT YOU SHOULD because every one has become a new favorite.)
I loved this book so much, after I read it the first time, I immediately read it again! Greer was always my favorite, and since reading the scene in the first book Beginner’s Luck where she meets Alex I’ve been looking forward to their story. I love a quiet heroine! Of course there has to be a conflict in the story, and I admit the first time I read it the conflict caused me to get kind of annoyed with Greer as I expected more from her, but the second time through I felt like I got her motivations and they did make sense. This was my favorite book of the series, though I really enjoyed Luck of the Draw also. Alex and Greer have a lovely story, and I’m so glad that Greer got such a sweet guy! She deserves him.
I cannot say enough good things about this series, and particularly the book that brings it to a perfect conclusion. I purchased Best of Luck the day it came out and read it in a single day, during which I laughed, cried, and still cannot stop thinking about the emotional place it brought me to. The story is about about a woman working towards various kinds of independence, and a man struggling with what it might mean to be anchored to a single place. Throughout the story, the author deftly develops both of her main characters as individuals and as a couple, while thematically reflecting on how individuality, independence, romantic love, and dependence intersect. This isn't a book you'll just breeze through and move on- it stays with you, but in the lovely kind of way where you just want to keep thinking about it and returning to it. It's an emotional read in every sense of the word, but could not recommend more highly!
Kate Clayborn is one of my favourite authors. I knew this after the first book of hers I read, but she likes showing off, clearly, so I'm declaring this fact yet again. Best of Luck was emotional, swoon-worthy, poignant, romantic, and deeply layered. The anxiety rep in this book is incredible, and as someone who suffers from anxiety and panic disorder, I felt seen and deeply, deeply touched. Highly recommended - but bring your tissues and chocolate along.
I’ve read all three books in Kate Clayborn’s series and loved each one! Clayborn does an amazing job getting inside her characters’ heads, bringing them to life and leaving you (the reader) feeling like you just spent time with new friends you know and love.

Greer and Alex are amazing individuals and together they’re a couple you can’t help but root for. Their novel is the perfect wrap up for this series. If you haven’t read all three, I highly recommend that you do!
My gosh, this series. Kate Clayborn is on my auto-buy list now.

I basically ignored my family all morning so I could absorb myself in Greer and Alex's romance. The way Clayborn can build tension is just masterful. I couldn't put it down. I mean, a scene involving a basically chaste photography lesson with a ladybug gave me real pants-feelings to borrow a fab phrase from Greer.

Alex is a dreamboat and I loved seeing his mental health journey which is kicked off by Greer's urging but isn't solved by their relationship. And wow, I wish I could have a Patricia for my therapist!

The relationship between the three women is also just standout and exemplary. I'm also blessed with a core crew of women who are my own Zoe and Kit.

Can't recommend these books enough!
